We are a second and third generation family construction business that specializes in custom residential and commercial remodeling, additions, and renovations. We also help cultivate plans for new home construction in a design-build capacity. We are a family-owned one-stop shop for construction needs proudly serving Albertville and surrounding areas since 1994. We are interested in building homes, not houses. We build long-term relationships with clients we consider friends and family to build a community we are proud to call home. We are invested in making our corner of the world a better place for you and your family. We understand that home is more than your 4 walls. Home is community, and we are invested in building both.
Before starting his own business, Ray worked for his dad, O.W. "Shorty" Kennamer beginning in the early 1970's. He worked with Shorty through high school and upon graduation, started working full time overseeing jobs. They worked all over Northeast Alabama involving themselves in residential and commercial insurance work, new construction, and remodeling. After Shorty's passing, Ray wanted to continue the legacy of quality construction in and around Marshall County by carving his niche in the home remodeling and renovation side of the construction industry. Ray is a Certified Graduate Remodeler and Graduate Master Builder through the Alabama Home Builders Association, past president of the Marshall County Home Builders Association, past president and member of the Albertville City School Board, past Albertville Chamber of Commerce board member and president, and a Marshall County Leadership Challenge Class of 2001 graduate. Ray works diligently on every estimate and project to ensure customer satisfaction no matter what kind of project you want to complete. His motto has always been, "The impossible just takes a little longer."
Ray's middle daughter, Kelly, has followed in her dad’s footsteps to pursue a career in construction. She worked with Ray during summer breaks throughout high school and between semesters at Auburn University while majoring in Building Science. Kelly was able to complete an internship with a large construction company in Orlando where she was a part of a new hotel project. After that experience she had her mind made up to continue on the path to obtain the degree in Construction Management and one day come back home to work with in the family business. Kelly graduated from Auburn in 2012 and started in an estimating position for a metal fabrication company. After a year in estimating, Ray offered her a Project Manager position with Ray Kennamer Construction. Most recently, Kelly has earned her home builders license with the state of Alabama and bought into the company serving as the Vice President. You can see Kelly driving around town most days maintaining job sites and customer relations as well as helping with design aspects of each project.
